Couldn't agree with your comments more.
However, given previous "safety threads" I am sure that someone will object to running with lights on - that is why I started with the comments about the legal requirements.
I wouldn't even consider such a mod on my Savage - the engineering on the electrics is solid on my bike and I am not interested in loosing any of that stability.
